The purpose of the energy audit is to ensure energy and energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption and protect the environment. In Hungary, LVII of 2015 The Act on Energy Efficiency has made it mandatory for large companies to produce an energy audit. Every large company is required to conduct an energy audit every four years in order to understand the energy characteristics of its activity. According to the Regulation, energy audits should include:
- determine the energy sources and their costs
- determine consumption trends, base values and specific values
- finding and presenting energy waste points
- exploring and analyzing cost-effective ways of using energy, exploring the potential of renewable energy sources, and demonstrating advanced operational procedures and potential new equipment
- the energy audit is based on detailed calculations and provides suggestions for energy efficiency improvement measures.
